Concrete is a sponge. It drinks in oil drips, ice-melt residue, and four seasons of Treasure Valley weather — we pull it all back out and leave the slab looking close to pour-day again.

Boise concrete leads a hard life. It's porous, so every oil drip soaks in a little deeper. It freezes and thaws dozens of times each winter. And the sprinkler overspray out here leaves those chalky white hard-water lines along the edges. We pull all of it back out — the right pre-treatment for each stain, the right PSI for the slab.
If your driveway looks rough, that's not neglect — that's chemistry and weather. Concrete is porous, so the oil drip from the commuter car works in a little deeper every hot summer. Then winter shows up: months of freeze-thaw swings, ice-melt tracked off the street, sand from the city trucks. By March the slab is a tired gray-brown and nobody remembers it used to be nearly white. A garden hose won't touch any of that. The right degreaser, the right pressure, and a proper surface cleaner will.
Driveway cleaning is one of the most-requested jobs we do, from Bench driveways to the newer subdivision slabs going in south of town. We match the treatment to the stain — degreaser for oil, a rust-specific product for the orange streaks, the right mix for algae on the shaded side — then run the whole surface in even passes so it dries one uniform color instead of stripey. Most folks are honestly a little startled by the difference once it dries out.

A driveway collects an impressive variety of junk over the years. Here's what we see most around Boise:
From November through March, Boise crosses the freezing line almost daily -- below freezing overnight, above it by lunch. Water gets into the hairline cracks, freezes, expands, and pries. Repeat that a few dozen times a season and hairlines become real cracks and the surface starts to spall. The same cycle works oil and organic gunk deeper into the pores while it's at it.
That's why spring is our busiest driveway season. Winter leaves behind ice-melt residue, sand from the city trucks, and months of tracked-in grime -- and it all shows up the first sunny week of April. A spring cleaning strips it out before it gets a full summer to bake in, and shows you what shape the slab is actually in heading into the warm months.
A fall wash before the first hard freeze is the other smart play. A clean slab goes into winter with a lot less junk trapped under the ice and snow.
We don't just point a wand at the slab and hope. Every Boise driveway gets the same four steps, in the same order:
We walk the slab before touching anything. Oil zones, rust spots, cracks, surface type -- that tells us which detergents to use and how much pressure the concrete can take.
Oil and grease spots get commercial degreaser with real dwell time -- several minutes to break the bond between the oil and the concrete pores before any water hits.
The full surface in methodical overlapping passes -- even pressure, even coverage, no zebra stripes. Commercial equipment pulls out what rental machines leave behind.
All detergent and lifted grime rinsed off and directed away from your beds and toward proper drainage. The slab dries clean, with no soap film left behind.
Oil is the question we get most, so here's the straight answer: degreaser pre-treatment plus a proper wash removes the vast majority of oil staining and makes even the ugly ones dramatically better. But a stain that's had years to feed down into porous concrete may lighten a lot without vanishing entirely -- older North End slabs especially, since decades-old concrete is thirstier than a newer pour. We'll point at those spots before we start so nobody's surprised after. And if we don't think we can make a visible difference, we'll say so and you can keep your money.
What we can tell you: the detergent concentrations and equipment we run aren't on the shelf at the hardware store, and the results aren't either.
Tell us about the worst spot. We'll tell you straight what's realistic, and you get the number before we show up.

Call (208) 842-1167Estimate over the phone, real person See your priceWhat sets the price, on the home pageHow much does driveway cleaning cost in Boise?
The price tracks the slab size, the surface type, and how bad the staining is. A standard two-car concrete driveway with ordinary grime is the simplest case; heavy oil or a specialty surface like pavers or stamped concrete takes more treatment and time. Call for an estimate -- you get the number before we show up.
Can pressure washing remove oil stains from a driveway?
Yes, with the right process. We pre-treat oil stains with a commercial degreaser before washing, which breaks down the oil at a chemical level rather than just blasting the surface with water. Most oil stains are dramatically reduced or eliminated entirely. Very old, deeply penetrated stains on porous concrete may lighten without disappearing completely -- we will tell you what to expect before we start.
How long does it take to pressure wash a driveway?
A standard two-car residential driveway takes between 45 minutes and two hours from start to finish. That includes inspection, pre-treatment dwell time, washing, and rinsing. Larger driveways, heavily stained surfaces, or driveways with pavers and decorative features will take longer. We can give you a time estimate along with the price.
Will pressure washing damage my concrete driveway?
Not when it's done right. Damage almost always comes from too much pressure too close, or a zero-degree nozzle that cuts a line into the surface. We use fan nozzles and match the pressure to the slab -- a 1950s North End pour gets treated more gently than a five-year-old subdivision slab. One honest note: concrete that's already badly cracked or spalling can look a little rougher after cleaning, because the grime was hiding what was already there.
What is the best way to clean a driveway?
Professional pressure washing combined with the right pre-treatment detergents is the most effective method available. Cold-water consumer machines clean surface dirt reasonably well but cannot break down embedded oil or kill organic growth effectively. For best results on a residential driveway, professional cleaning every one to two years outperforms any combination of DIY washing and consumer products.
Can you clean asphalt driveways?
Yes. Asphalt requires lower pressure and a bit more care than concrete because the surface binder can be disrupted by very high PSI at close range. We dial down the pressure, use warm rather than scalding water, and work at the correct standoff distance. Cleaned correctly, asphalt driveways come out looking significantly better without any surface damage. Many customers are surprised how much grime has built up on their asphalt over the years.
How often should you pressure wash a driveway?
For most Boise homeowners, once a year is the sweet spot -- either in spring after winter grime accumulation or in fall before the freeze season. If you park multiple vehicles and deal with regular oil drips, or if your driveway is in a shaded area prone to algae growth, twice a year makes sense. Annual cleaning prevents stains from becoming permanent and keeps the surface in better condition overall over time.
Do you clean pavers and stamped concrete?
We do. Both surfaces require adjusted technique compared to plain concrete. For pavers, we pay attention to the joints and use lower fan-spread nozzles to avoid blasting out joint sand. For stamped concrete, we work at an angle that cleans inside the pattern grooves without flattening the stamped texture. If you have a sealant on your stamped concrete, let us know -- we will use pressure and temperature that cleans without stripping the sealant.
Can you remove rust stains from a driveway?
Rust stains need a different approach than oil or general grime. We use a targeted rust-treatment product that reacts with and dissolves iron oxide without etching the concrete. Standard pressure washing alone does not remove rust -- it takes the right chemistry. Results depend on how deep the rust has penetrated, but the improvement is usually very noticeable.
Will driveway cleaning remove tire marks?
In most cases, yes. Tire marks are rubber residue deposited on the surface from hard stops or sharp turns on a hot driveway. Our wash combined with a surfactant degreaser lifts the rubber from the surface very effectively. Marks that have been baked in for years or are on rougher concrete that gives them more surface area to grip may require a second pass or concentrated spot treatment.
Do I need to move my car before you arrive?
Yes, please have any vehicles moved off the driveway before we start. We need clear access to the entire surface to do a thorough, even clean. If there are areas we cannot reach because a vehicle is parked, those spots will look obviously different from the rest of the driveway when we're done. Letting us know the day before is always appreciated so we can plan the job start time.
How long should I stay off the driveway after cleaning?
The surface will be wet immediately after we finish, and concrete especially can be slippery while wet. Let the surface dry before you walk or drive on it. For parking vehicles, avoid dragging tire marks back across a freshly cleaned surface.
Does pressure washing seal the driveway too?
Pressure washing cleans the surface but does not apply any sealant. Sealing is a separate service that involves applying a protective coating after the surface has dried from cleaning. We do recommend sealing after cleaning because the open, clean pores in concrete absorb sealer much more effectively, and a good sealer significantly extends the time before the driveway needs professional cleaning again. Ask us about sealing when you call for an estimate.
Can driveway cleaning damage landscaping nearby?
Detergent runoff is the main concern. We are careful to direct rinse water away from planting beds and use plant-safe detergents wherever possible. If you have delicate plants right along the driveway edge, let us know when we arrive and we will take extra care in those areas. We do not leave behind runoff pooling on the lawn or in beds when the job is complete.
Do you offer driveway cleaning in Meridian and Eagle?
Yes. We cover the whole Treasure Valley -- Meridian, Eagle, Nampa, and Garden City along with Boise. We're a local crew based here, not a franchise dispatching from out of the area. If you're in Meridian or Eagle, call for an estimate just like our Boise neighbors do.
How fast can you clean my driveway in Boise?
Fast. Call or text and the crew will tell you the soonest they can fit a standard residential driveway in Boise, Meridian, or Eagle. The quickest route to a spot on the schedule: call with your address and rough driveway size so the estimate and the scheduling happen in one conversation.
Do I need to be home during the driveway cleaning?
Not necessarily. As long as we have clear access to the driveway, you have let us know about any delicate landscaping, and you have approved the estimate, we can complete the job while you are away. If you are not home, we are happy to send you photos of the finished driveway and arrange payment in whatever way is easiest for you.
